You may be tempted to buy a serial mouse at a bargain price as they're often dirt cheap. There's a reason they're cheaper. They're just not as good as a USB mouse. Provided yo have an available USB port on your PC, always try to shop for a USB mouse. They transfer data faster and are plug and play so generally need no driver software to be installed.
Ball or Optical
